Former league champions Gor Mahia will play a friendly match against Thika United at Camp Toyoyo, Jericho in Nairobi on Saturday.
Gor Mahia were earlier scheduled to clash with SportPesa Premier League champions Tusker on Saturday in the season opening DStv Super Cup. This annual fixture has, however, been postponement.
“We have moved quickly to get this game against Thika so that the preseason regimen can go on according to the coach’s plans. I know that preseason preparations are crucial and we want the players to have the best and most elaborate preps so that we can go on and reclaim what we lost last season,” Gor Organising Secretary Judith Anyango said.
The match against Thika will be K’Ogalo’s second high profile friendly fixture this year. They lost 1-0 to Al Hilal of Sudan on January 18 in Khartoum.
Gor have also lined up a friendly match against Uganda Premier League club Onduparaka in Kampala on February 4.
The club have signed 10 players so far, the most notable, 2016 SPL Most Valuable Player Kenneth Muguna, and Joash Onyango, from Western Stima, Rwandan Jean Baptiste Mugiraneza and AFC Leopards forward John Ndirangu.
