Record 15-time league champions Gor Mahia have officially named 14 players recruited for the new season.
They include the league’s Most Valuable Player Kenneth Muguna, Rwanda international Jean Baptiste Mugiraneza signed from Tanzanian outfit Azam, former AFC Leopards forward John Ndirangu and rookie defender Teddy Osok from the K’Ogalo’s youth team.
The new arrivals were presented to the media at a brief ceremony held on Friday evening where club chairman Ambrose Rachier asked them to remain loyal and dedicated to the club.
“Gor Mahia is a good club that is loved by many and we shall make sure that you get the necessary support. I urge you to work hard because the standards keep rising and we have to match up to expectations,” he said.
The club times the unveiling ceremony to run together with the launch of a partnership with Goma Lotto, a mobile-based lottery firm.
Goma Lotto has made several pledges aimed at improving the welfare of players and club officials.
The new partners will provide insurance to the players, set up an academy, buy a new bus, build a clubhouse and ultimately construct an ultramodern stadium for the team.
