Bandari and Sofapaka were the biggest winners on Sunday, but AFC Leopards and Mathare were also on the right side of the score sheet..
Bandari 3-0 Thika United (Mbaraki Sports Club)
Thika’s Dennis Odhiambo squandered a penalty kick early on and Danny Sserunkuma made him rue his wastage on 24 minutes by burying his spot kick with aplomb to hand Bandari the lead.
Darius Msagha then doubled the scores for the coastal side in the 39th minute with a beautiful bicycle kick that sent the ball far into the right corner.
Four minutes after the half time break, the dangerous Sserunkuma, a previously league Player of the Year winner, completed his brace sending the ball past a hapless Thika custodian Eliud Emase after being teed off by Shaban Kenga.
Kakamega Homeboyz 1-2 Nzoia Sugar (Mumias Sports Complex)
Moses Mudavadi got to the end of a Charles Momanyi cross in the second minute to give Homeboyz a dream start.
Lawrence Juma, with acres of space had the time to pick his spot with a headed effort past Homeboyz goalkeeper Michael Wanyika for Nzoia’s equalizer in the 37th minute.
Former AFC Leopards defender Edwin Wafula wrapped matters up for Nzoia with a successful penalty kick on 68 minutes.
Western Stima 0-0 Chemelil Sugar (Moi Stadium)
This was a third winless game for Western Stima as they failed to take advantage of playing at home.
Stima coach Henry Omino had made three changes from the squad that lost to Posta Rangers last weekend, but to no avail.
Zoo Kericho 0-3 Sofapaka (Kericho Green Stadium)
Ezekiel Okare opened the scoring for the surging Sofapaka in the sixth minute after being put through by midfielder Paul Odhiambo.
Three minutes later, Odhiambo came through with a goal of his own from a swift counter attack.
Odhiambo, formerly of AFC Leopards, completed his brace in the 60th minute to condemn Zoo to their fifth consecutive defeat this season.
AFC Leopards 1-0 Muhoroni Youth (Mbaraki Sports Club)
AFC Leopards returned to winning ways but they were made to fight hard for it.
Allan Kateregga scored the all-important goal of the match in the 35th minute with a nice header off Gilbert Fiamenyo's flick.
Ingwe players wore black arm bands during the match in honour of club legend Sammy Taabu who passed on last Friday night.
