Chemelil’s midfielder Majid joins Leopards as they heavily reinforce

AFC Leopards have bolstered their side with the acquisition Chemelil Sugar midfielder Victor Majid as they look to turn around an increasingly difficult season.

Majid, a Kenya call up, is expected in Nairobi this week to put pen to paper on a two-year deal.

The useful midfielder will become Ingwe’s fourth signing this June, following the acquisition of Keziron Kizito, Alexis Kitenge and veteran Uganda international Mussa Mudde. /

“We have been following him (Majid) for one month now, and there are very few things pending between us and his club (Chemelil Sugar). He will sign his contract before the end of the week unless something major happens,” Leopards chairman Dan Mule said.

He added: “We are not yet done with recruitment. We want to have a very strong team by the end of this month so we are still negotiating with different players here in Kenya and abroad.”

Reports also indicate that the club is planning to hand former players Mike Khamati and Kepha Aswani separate loan deals from Tusker and Nakumatt respectively.

The two strikers are meant to replacement Mungai Kiongera whose contract has lapsed and will not be renewed by the club.

Captain Bernard Mang’oli, who was rumoured to be on his way out of the club, has had his contract renewed by the club.

Leopards have gone eight matches without a win and are placed a lowly 12th on the log.
