New brewer Muchiri can’t wait for Tusker life

New Tusker winger Boniface Muchiri cannot wait to start life at Ruaraka after signing a three-year deal.

Muchiri, who completed his move to Tusker on Wednesday from Sony Sugar, told Kpl.co.ke that he was delighted to be moving to a championship winning club. He revealed that he had always wanted to play for one of the three big league sides in the country.

“I have always wanted to play for either Tusker, Gor Mahia or AFC Leopards because those are the big clubs in this country. I chose Tusker because they were interested in me, but also because they have a very distinct plan of winning the league this year and I very much want to be part of that.”

This, he explained, is the reason he snubbed overtures from ambitious Kariobangi Sharks who had chased after him for a while.

“I want to thank the Sony fraternity for their encouragement. It’s because of the good relationship I had with my Sony mates and the management, and the hard work we put in as a team that made my career in the KPL progress,” he said.

Muchiri, who has featured for Kenya Under-20, joins Tusker after making 26 league appearances for Sony Sugar and scoring two goals.

He becomes the third player to be signed by the table topping brewers in the current transfer window after Paul Odhiambo and Luis Tera Misiko. He will compete for a starting role against the likes of Danson Kago, Abdul Hassan and Noah Wafula in the Tusker team.
