Homeboyz brace for Sony backlash in Mumias

Kakamega Homeboyz host Sony Sugar on Wednesday from 3pm at Mumias Sports Complex.

Unbeaten in five games, Sony Sugar will be looking to extend this healthy run as they also seek vengeance for their 1-0 defeat at the hands of Homeboyz in the first leg on July 2 in Awendo.

The sugar millers' can look to the resurgence of striker Amos Asembeka who was part of the Kenya team called up for two international friendly games against Mauritania and Morocco.

However, Sony captain Kevin Oluoch and long serving forward Marwa Chamberi are carrying injuries and have been ruled out of this clash.

Homeboyz will also miss a number of key players including Ivorian striker Lamine Diallo who is attending trials at Qatari club Al Muaither.

Diallo's absence will put the home side’s front line in sharp focus considering the waning powers of their proven goal scorer Wycliffe Ochomo in recent times.

Eight points separate the two teams on the league table, with Homeboyz standing in sixth place with 31 points and Sony 14th with 23 points.
