Unstoppable Gor

Open the way, Gor Mahia is coming! Indeed the record league champions were on the rampage crushing Chemelil Sugar 3-0 at their shared Moi Stadium in Kisumu on Wednesday.

And what a splendid outing for Rwandan Jacques Tuyisenge who scored a brace for the second consecutive time as galloping leading leaders Gor posted six goals scored in two matches. Tuyisenge five days earlier notched a double as Gor tore Nzoia Sugar 4-0.

Tuyisenge, who was largely unproductive last season due to a niggling left knee injury, opened the scoring in the 23rd minute after tricky George "BlackBerry" Odhiambo set him up.

The Rwanda captain grabbed his second goal five minutes later with a spectacular bicycle kick that sparked wild cheers of approval from the Green Army at the Moi Stadium stands - a sure candidate for goal of the season.

Reigning SportPesa Premier League Most Valuable Player Kenneth Muguna had the last word of the match in the 62nd minute after a delicious n interchange of passes with Meddie Kagere before firing home for an emphatic Gor win.

The sugar millers had a goal by Faraj Odeny disallowed in the 35th minute for offside.

The 15-time champions managed this riveting result in spite of a go slow at the club earlier in the week where players refused to attend training demanding payment of their accrued bonuses and salaries.

The three points leave Gor - nine matches unbeaten - high atop the league table with a nine-point advantage over closest challengers Sofapaka.

Their next assignment will be against Thika United at the Thika Stadium while Chemelil will welcome Nakumatt at their Chemelil Sports Complex on Sunday.
