Sharks, Sofapaka settle for barren draw

This result was exactly the same as the first leg encounter between the two teams.

Sharks played without their prolific striker Masoud Juma, who was suspended for accumulation of five yellow cards, and it showed as their two-match winning streak was shattered at Kenyatta Stadium. Juma’s cover Ebrimma Sanneh was not much of a factor on this day.

Meshack Karani and hot Umar Kasumba were a threat for Sofapaka but just could not make the decisive breakthrough.

The single point for title chasing Sofapaka brings up their season’s points tally to 42 points, eight behind leaders Gor Mahia who play Thika United on Sunday in Thika.

Sharks next play Posta Rangers on Wednesday while Sofapaka will be up against Kakamega Homeboyz next Saturday.
