Stima too hot for hosts Muhoroni to handle

Western Stima bounced back from their heavy loss to Zoo on Wednesday to pip Muhonori Youth 1-0 at Muhoroni Stadium on Saturday.

Ezekiel Otuoma notched up the precious item for Stima late, late in the first half with a fine finish.

This was Stima’s first win in four matches, their last before Saturday coming way back on July 29 when they edged out AFC Leopards by a solitary goal. And it was sweet revenge for the power men who lost 2-1 to Muhoroni in the first leg.

And at Sudi Stadium, home side Nzoia Sugar were held to a barren draw by Chemelil Sugar.

Ex-Muhoroni player Masita Masuta was the danger man in Nzoia’s attack, flanked by Lawrence Juma but they just could not make the decisive breakthrough. The result translated to an encouraging four points for the league returnees in two matches after previously enduring a three-match losing streak.

The weekend, a Fifa calendar period, featured only two league matches.
