Kakamega Homeboys, Western Stima big winners

Sofapaka stunned by Western Stima at Narok, Bandari squeeze win against Nakumatt at Ruaraka as the Thika United-Mathare United showdown ends all even in Sunday’s matches.

Muhoroni Youth 0-3 Kakamega Homeboyz (Muhoroni Stadium)

Wycliffe Opondo was first on the score sheets releasing a long range shot in the 25th minute that caught Muhoroni custodian Gradus Ochieng flat footed.

Club top scorer Jeremiah Wanjala doubled the scores seven minutes later rounding his marker to coolly pick his spot.

Veteran striker Francis Ocholla, who was facing his former employers in this match, put the icing on the Homeboys cake with his sure right foot shot three minutes later.

Muhoroni are now rooted at the bottom of the table and leading candidates for relegation.

Nakumatt 0-1 Bandari (Ruaraka Grounds)

Former Sofapaka defender Felly Mulumba came through with the decisive action of the match when he beautifully curled in a free kick from outside the box early in the first half.

Goldon Boot chasing Kepha Aswani did not get any meaningful sniff at goal this afternoon.

The results marked Bandari’s first win in five matches stretching back to September 17 when they blanked Zoo 3-0 in Mombasa.

Sofapaka 1-3 Western Stima (Narok County)

Western Stima midfielder Kennedy Oduor opened the scoring in this match with an 18th minute strike, but Brian Marita equalise almost instantly for Sofapaka who were looking to regain second position on the log.

On fire Ugandan striker Robert Achema however scored two quick fire goals in the 34thand 44th minute to decide the match for the visitors.

Thika United 1-1 Mathare United (Thika Stadium)

In this relegation battle, Mathare went ahead in the 16th minute via Cliff Nyakeya who beat Thika custodian Allan Owiny from close range after collecting Chrispinus Oduor’s pass.

Eugene Mukangula, returning to the Thika lineup after a lengthy injury lay-off, brought back parity four minutes later with a venomous shot arrowed into the bottom left corner.

The result reflected the flow of play.
